What we offer

Five services for studio and live production teams

dailyray works across the technical side of television and live media. We review workflows, advise on cameras, design lighting plans, support audio routing and sync, and write the guides crews actually use. Each service can be taken on its own or alongside another.

  1. Studio Workflow Review

We assess your studio and control room workflow and report on where time and quality are being lost.

  2. Camera Configuration Advice

Guidance on camera selection, rigging, shading and matching for multi-camera studio and live shoots.

  3. Stage Lighting Design

Lighting plans for studio sets and live stages, balancing look, cost and camera requirements.

  4. Audio Sync and Mixing Support

Help with audio routing, lip-sync checks and mixing set-ups for live and recorded programmes.

  5. Technical Writing and Guides

Clear operating manuals, checklists and training guides written for your production crew.

If you are unsure which service fits, describe the problem on the contact page and we will suggest a starting point before any scope is agreed.

Studio Workflow Review

  1. Observation of a live or rehearsal day

We sit in on a real production, following the director, vision mixer, audio and camera crew. We note delays, repeated checks and unclear calls so the report reflects what happens on the day.

  2. Control room and signal path mapping

We map how sources, monitoring, talkback and graphics connect, and where operators wait for each other. This often shows redundant steps and equipment placed awkwardly for the people using it.

  3. Written findings in plain language

You receive a report that names each issue, explains why it matters and ranks fixes by effort. It avoids jargon so producers and engineers can read the same document and agree on priorities.

  4. A walkthrough of the report

We go through the findings with your team, answer questions and adjust recommendations that do not suit your budget or building. Nothing is left as a list of problems without a practical next step.

How it works

From first enquiry to finished work

Every job starts with a conversation about your production and ends with something your crew can use. The steps below are the same whichever service you need.

  1. Enquiry

You send a short description through the contact page: the studio or venue, the type of programme and what is not working. We reply to ask anything that is unclear.

  2. Scoping call

We talk through the problem, agree what is and is not included, and decide whether a site visit is needed. The scope is written down so both sides know what to expect.

  3. Written quotation

You receive a written quotation describing the work and its price. Nothing starts until you have confirmed it in writing.

  4. The work itself

We carry out the review, design, support session or writing, on site or remotely as agreed. We keep you informed if something unexpected changes the scope.

  5. Handover and invoice

We deliver the report, plan or guide and go through it with you. An invoice follows, payable by bank transfer under our payment and refund policy.
